The menu changes with what's growing and what feels right for the season. This is what we're cooking this month.

To Begin

Heirloom Tomato Salad

Sun-warmed tomatoes from the garden, torn basil, a drizzle of good olive oil, and sea salt that crunches. Nothing more.

The Main

Braised Short Ribs

Bone-in short ribs slow-cooked six hours in red wine and thyme until the meat yields to a spoon. Served over creamy polenta with roasted root vegetables.

— Our most-requested dish. Paired with a Côtes du Rhône.

The Cheese

Local Farmstead Board

Three cheeses sourced within 100 miles — a young chèvre, an aged cheddar, a washed-rind wedge — with honeycomb, marcona almonds, and fig jam.

— Arrives before dessert so conversation can breathe.

To Finish

Stone-Fruit Cobbler

Peaches and sour cherries under a brown-butter biscuit top, baked in the cast-iron until the edges bubble and the crust turns the color of a harvest moon. Vanilla cream on the side.

The People Behind the Table

Margaret & Tom Calloway

We moved to Elm Street in 2019 with a long oak table, too many cast-iron pans, and the stubborn belief that the best thing you can do for a neighborhood is feed it.

Saturday nights started as dinners for six friends; they grew into something we didn't expect — a room full of people who didn't know each other in January and can't imagine a Saturday without the table by March.
